DOUGLAS JOHN BUCHANAN RODDA
August 23rd, 1946 - July 15th, 2019
Douglas John Buchanan Rodda (8/23/1946-7/5/2019) was a dedicated family man, world traveler, accomplished technology professional, and passionate sportsman who loved new experiences and worked hard at everything. Just weeks before his death, he relished the new experience of driving professionally at the US Open golf tournament in Pebble Beach. Doug read and watched media ravenously on technology, sailing, aviation, cars, basketball, tennis, world military history, and spiritual philosophy. His favorite movies were romantic comedies, mindless action and martial arts, and cerebral suspense thrillers. He was good-natured, with a stubborn streak, and really enjoyed food and a good bargain. We miss him so much. In lieu of gifts or flowers, the family suggests food donations to local food banks or memorial gifts to your favorite cause.

Mission Mortuary opened its doors in 1946 at a location on Munras Avenue in Monterey and moved to our current location on Camino El Estero in 1952.
