Edward Everett Wilson

Edward Wilson Edward “Ted” Wilson, age 90, died peacefully in his sleep on Thursday, November 26, 2009. He was born on November 12, 1919 in Long Beach, CA. He was the first of three sons born to Edward and Frances Wilson. Ted’s early years were spent on the farm in Compton, CA. In 1931 the family moved to Chino, CA. Ted attended Chaffey College and completed his education at U.C.Davis, just before WWII. During WWII, Ted served in the U.S. Coast Guard from 1942 until the end of the war. In 1945, Ted met his wife, June, at a dance in Pomona, CA, while he was home on leave. They married on May 12, 1946 and following a honeymoon to the Northwest, began farming operations in Chino, CA. In 1952, Ted and June moved to Chico, CA, where they bought a ranch and raised crops and livestock, north of town, along Pine Creek. Ted was active in 4H and Farm Bureau. He also served on the Board of Trustees at the Shasta Union School District. Ted and June enjoyed visits from relatives and friends who often came to visit and stayed for vacation. He enjoyed golf and their home on the golf course at Lake Almanor, West. Ted was also known for his love of dancing, which continued into his golden years. Ted was very close to his family and took great pleasure in their lives and accomplishments. Ted’s wife, June, preceded him in death in October of 2007. Ted is survived by his brother, David Wilson; two sons and their wives, Gary and Terry, Dennis and Carol; eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren. A graveside service will be held a 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 2, 2009 at Pine Creek Cemetery, Broyles Road, North of Chico.
