Biography Elizabeth “Liz” Catherine Giordano, 46, of Denver, passed away while surrounded by family on December 28, 2013. Liz was born November 1, 1967 in Chicago, IL to Edward S. and Graciela (Botello) Eberhard. Liz married her best friend, Toby Giordano in 1995. She graduated from Broomfield High School continuing her education at the University of Colorado Boulder with an Undergraduate Degree in History before receiving a Law Degree from CU. After graduation, Liz’s professional experiences included positions at the Adams County Attorney’s Office, the First Judicial Court of the State of Colorado, Coors Brewing Company, the Hispanic National Bar, and the Colorado Bar Association CLE. Liz was a member of the Colorado Bar Association, the Colorado Women’s Bar Association, the Colorado Hispanic Bar Association, the Hispanic National Bar Association and the American Corporate Counsel Association. She was instrumental in the development and success of the Spanish Language Lawyering Committee. In 2003, Liz found her true ‘vocation’ when she began her own law practice focusing on Immigration matters for religious workers. She thoroughly enjoyed working with the men and women who were dedicated to spreading the faith. Liz was a devoted member of St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church. Flowers were her forte and she especially enjoyed decorating the Church during the Easter and Christmas seasons. Liz was also an avid gardener and never met a dog she didn’t love. She was known by many for her huge heart and compassion for those less fortunate. Liz always felt blessed to have been a successful match for a bone marrow donation. Every person she met, even if only for a short time, was affected by her vibrancy, love and laughter. She is survived by and will be deeply missed by her Husband, Toby Giordano, of Denver, CO and their ‘miracle baby’, Grace Katherine Giordano; her Mother, Graciela Eberhard; Brother, Ralph Eberhard; Sisters, Geriann (Don) Ferreri, Gail (Tim) Powers; Gwen (Andrew) Pomper and Stephanie (Brett) Barcel; 26 nieces and nephews and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Liz was preceded in death by her Father and her beloved Abulita, Juanita Botello, as well as her other grandparents. A Rosary will be at 10:30 a.m., Friday, January 3, 2014, St. Catherine of Siena, 4200 Federal Blvd., Denver, CO , followed by an 11:00am Funeral Mass. The Graveside Service will take place at Sacred Heart of Mary Catholic Cemetery, 6739 South Boulder Rd., Boulder, CO. A reception will follow the burial at Sacred Heart of Mary Parish Hall. In lieu of flowers the family has asked that contributions be made in Liz’s name to St. Catherine of Siena School, c/o Lori O’Connor, 4200 Federal Blvd., Denver CO 80211.
