Elizabeth "Betty" Ann Landro, 87, of Cloquet passed away Friday, December 30, 2016 in Inter-Faith Care Center in Carlton. She was born March 25, 1929 in Cloquet to Joseph and Sena (Madsen) Weckert and graduated from Cloquet High School. Betty graduated from St. Scholastica in 1953 as a registered nurse and worked at St. Mary's Hospital until she left to help open the Cloquet Memorial Hospital in 1958. She retired from the hospital in 1979 as the Director of Nurses. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Trygve; sisters, Evelyn, Violet, and Rose; and brother, Raymond. Betty is survived by her daughter, Andrea (Jeff) Pike of Ely; sister, Patricia Johnson; and several nieces and nephews. The family wishes to acknowledge Inter-Faith Care Center staff for the extraordinary care they provided Betty. Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 7, 2017 in Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Cloquet with visitation 1 hour prior to service. There will be a luncheon in the church social hall after the service. Inurnment service will be at Maple Grove Cemetery at a later date.
