Elizabeth Maude Owens Bates, 70, passed away Wednesday, November 11, 2020. The widow of Ron Bates, she was born July 9, 1950, to the late Gerald and Ann O’Connell Owens in Scottsburg, IN. Elizabeth was a faithful member of Journey Church and was a retired employee of the Kentucky Department of Transportation. Elizabeth is survived by her sister-in-law, Kathy Gale, IN; her minister and friend, Randy Nation, as well as her entire Journey Church family. In addition to her parents, Gerald and Ann O’Connell Owens, Elizabeth was preceded in death by her husband, Ron Bates. A Memorial Service will be held 6:00p, Sunday, November 15, 2020 at Journey Church in Versailles, KY with Pastor Randy Nation officiating. Burial will be in Acton Cemetery in Indianapolis, IN. A Memorial Visitation will be from 5:00p-6:00p on Sunday, November 15, 2020, prior to service. In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions are suggested to March of Dimes and the Kentucky Blood Center.
