Chicopee-Eugene E. Lavigne, Jr., 71, passed away October 20, 2023 at his home. Born February 26, 1952 in Springfield Ma. He was the son of Eugene Sr. and Agnes (Haley) Lavigne. Eugene lived in Ludlow for many years before moving to Chicopee about 40 years ago. He was a bread delivery man for various companies, most recently Hostess, until his retirement. Gene loved music and dancing along with going to Planet Fitness in Chicopee. He was a member of local Teamsters 404 and 671 along with going to the Moose Club in Chicopee, with his father. Gene also enjoyed the time he spent playing bingo, and spending time on his computer. He will long be remembered by his children, Kimberly Turgeon and Jean of Agawam, Sonja Lavigne of E.Longmeadow and Garrett Lavigne and Nicole of Belchertown, as well as his five cherished grandchildren; Jocelyn Biathrow, Jenna Biathrow, Gianna Biathrow, Jayden Lavigne, and Nicholas Brandoli. He also leaves his siblings, Debra Norris of Ludlow, Thomas Lavigne of VA and Donna Petrucci of CT and his long time family friend, Steve Harris of Chicopee, Ma Visitation will be Saturday, October 28 at the Beers & Story South Hadley Funeral Home from 2-4pm.
