Fidelis L. Solinski
January 3rd, 1926 - July 22nd, 2012
Fidelis "Dale" White Solinski, age 86, passed from her earthly cares on July 22nd at St. Anthony's Hospital, St. Petersburg, FL. Dale was the daughter of the late Alexander and Delina White and was born in Bay City, Mich. on January 3, 1926. She graduated from St. Joseph's High School and moved to Florida in 1969 with her four children. She is preceded in death by her loving husbands, Glenn Corrian, Lt. Marion Gwizdala and Louis A. Solinski. Her three marriages are a testament to her love, courage, and desire to live on in the face of tragedy and incredible loss. She is preceded in death also by her brothers, Elmer, Alexander, and Clarence White. She is survived by her sister, Lorraine Fournier; children (and their spouses), Marilyn Gwizdala Shafer, Marion (Merry) Gwizdala, Mark Solinski, and Mary Lou (Dr. Corey) Johnson Evans; grandchildren Erik (Brandy) Shafer, Kurt (Kimberly) Shafer, Aislinn (Jeffrey) Woody, and Joshua Johnson; as well as great granddaughters, Hailey Shafer and Sophia Shafer. To all who knew her, Dale always wore a smile and was the epitome of love and grace despite her many hardships. She owned and operated Admiral Dale's Fish Camp & Bar in Okeechobee, Florida where she enjoyed sharing laughter, fish fries, and brew every Friday night. She loved to cook and be surrounded by her family. Walking the beach, gardening, and being in the Florida sunshine were her passions. Our mother will be missed greatly, but we know she has a band of angels guiding her to God's eternal home. A celebration of life and remembrance is being planned by the family. Her cremains will be interred in St. Stanislaus Cemetery, Essexville, Michigan. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made at www.nagdu.org or http://www.fightblindness.org/goto/teamjoshua A special thank you to St. Anthony's Hospital and the team of wonderful Physicians and Nurses that cared for our mother.
