Garry J. Baun 91, formerly of Youngstown, passed away Sunday, February 3, 2013 at Tucson Medical Center Hospice. Garry was born March 9, 1921, in Youngstown, a son of the late Garry C. and Jean (Collins) Baun. Garry graduated from Ohio Northern in Ada, Ohio, with a degree in Pharmacy in 1950. He served in World War II as a flight engineer in china, Burma, India theatre for the U.S. Army Air Corps from 1941 to 1945. Garry and his wife, Lois, owned Baun Pharmacy in Austintown, Ohio and in 1971 moved to Arizona and was a pharmacist for Tucson Medical Center. Garry and Lois both retired in 1983 and traveled extensively. He was also a member of the Austintown Kiwanis Club. His wife, the former Lois I. Schultz, passed away March 29, 2011. Garry leaves his two sons, Ed Baun of Youngstown and Gerry (Debra) Baun of Tucson; and his grandson, Daniel Baun. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Robert Baun. Material tributes may take the form of donations to Tanque Verde Lutheran School, 8625 E. Tanque Verde Road, Tucson, AZ 85749. A memorial service will be announced and held at a later date.
