Harry (Papa) Asa Nichols, 82, joined his Lord and savior on Tuesday, October 1, 2013. Harry passed away peacefully surrounded by family at his home in Dunedin, Florida. He was born March 15, 1931 in Elmira, NY, and served proudly as a Corporal with the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War. After the war he joined Pinellas Press Printing Company in Clearwater, Florida, and eventually became owner. He loved sailing, fishing, golf, tennis and was an avid Gator fan. He was a member of the Clearwater Yacht Club and served as editor of their newsletter, "The Compass." Harry and his wife, Barbara, were involved with the Sertoma Club for many years and always enjoyed performing in the "Sertoma Follies." One of Harry's favorite verses was James 1:2-4, "My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing." When asked, "how are you doing?", Harry would always reply, "better than I deserve". He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara H. Nichols; daughter, Barbara L. Nichols; parents, Asa and Betty Nichols; sisters, Virginia Metheny and Ruth Rummler, and brother, Fred Nichols.
