"Brimfield - Helen A. (O'Shea) Romano, 73, died on June 9, 2017 at home. Born February 17, 1944 in Brooklyn, NY, daughter of the late Lawrence and Adrianne (Scibelli) O'Shea. She was raised in Brooklyn, NY and has lived in Brimfield for over 30 years. Helen was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, who enjoyed spending time with her family. She was an active and former member of Bethany Charismatic Catholic Church where her self-taught organ playing delighted parishioners weekly for many years. She currently attended St. Thomas Church in Palmer. Helen had many talents from which all of her loved ones reaped the benefits. In addition to her delicious cooking and baking (which rivaled that of some of the best NY Italian bakeries), Helen had a gift to bring the blank canvas of ceramics to life with her exceptionally talented painting skills. She also loved to crochet which was also self-taught. She loved to share both her culinary and artistic creations with her children. She will be deeply missed by her husband, Eric Romano of Brimfield. She leaves nine children, Salvatore Romano of Southbridge, MA, Mabel Romano of Redondo Beach, CA, Eric Romano, Jr., Scottsdale, AZ, Joseph Romano of Ware, Tina-Marie Romano of Woodstock, CT, Erica Romano of Holland, Renee Romano of Worcester, Anthony Romano of Cranston, RI and Nicholas Romano of Ft. Lauderdale, FL. She was the sister of the late Lawrence and Joseph O'Shea, and is survived by her brother James O'Shea, all of Brooklyn, NY. She will also be missed by 11 grandchildren, Alecia Marie Suprenant, Skylar Suprenant, Nadine Marie Varano, Jacqueline Renee Menard, Danielle Justice Menard, Tristan Menard, Jonathan Romano, Paul Owiredu, Nicholas Owiredu, Joshua Romano and Bennett Skowyra.. A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, June 15th at 11:00 a.m at St. Thomas Church in Palmer. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Calling hours are omitted."
