Howard Weston

"Howard “Zeke” Weston, 83, of Chicopee St., died Thursday March 15, 2007 at Holyoke Medical Center. Born in Belchertown on January 6, 1924, he was the son of the late Roderick and Lena (Shepard) Weston. He grew up in Belchertown before moving to Granby in 1949. He is an Army veteran, serving his country in WWII. Zeke worked for many years for Nuttings Auto Wrecking before retiring in 1974. He enjoyed working around the home and always had a project going. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his son Howard “Chip” Weston, Jr. in 1978. He will be sadly missed by his wife of 57 yeas, Lydia I. (Miller), his son Roderick and his wife Kathleen of Florence, MA and his daughter Mary Lou Johnson of Amherst, MA along with his seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren. His brother Robert of Wilbraham and sister Margaret Arena of Springfield also survive him. His siblings Louis, George, Walter, Bertha, Martha and Mildred also predeceased him. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 20 at 11:00 a.m. from the Beers and Story South Hadley Funeral Home. Burial will follow in West Cemetery, Granby. A calling hour from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. will precede the service. For those wishing, donations may be made in his memory to the MSPCA 350 S.
