James D. Henry

James "Jim" Davidson Henry Jr. died peacefully on Wednesday, October 14th, 2015 in St. Petersburg, FL at the age of 68. Jim is survived by his son, James Davidson Henry, III, his wife, Maureen and their children Katherine, Meagan and Zachary; his daughter, Candice Henry Dungel, her husband Paul and their children, Christopher and Andrew. He is preceded in death by Margaret Henry; his father, James Henry; mother, Catherine Henry; and his brothers Jerry Henry and Doug Henry. Jim was born on May 16, 1947 in Detroit, Michigan to James and Catherine Henry. They moved to St. Petersburg, Florida when he was a child. He graduated from Bishop Barry High School (St. Petersburg Catholic High School) and University of South Florida. He then attended and graduated from Stetson Law School in 1972 with a Juris Doctor degree in law near the top of his class. Margaret and Jim met at work while she was working in St. Petersburg one summer. She ended up permanently moving from Ocala, were married in 1969, and started a family. He enjoyed taking family vacations, watching HGTV, playing lotto, crosswords, and researching law. He would go into work seven days a week and considered his coworkers a second family. He was a brilliant man that will be greatly missed. A viewing is scheduled for Monday, October 19th between 5:00pm and 7:00pm at David C. Gross Funeral Home at 830 N Belcher Road, Clearwater, FL 33765. A funeral mass will be held Tuesday, October 20th at 10:00am at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church at 1955 S Belcher Road, Clearwater, FL 33764. Burial will follow at Calvary Catholic Cemetery. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Jim's life. The family would like to thank the hospital staff at Palms of Pasadena for their care and dedication. David C.
