James "B.J." Mullins
October 20th, 1934 - December 6th, 2017
James (BJ) Mullins, 83, of Kingsport, peacefully went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday (December 6, 2017) at his home surrounded by his family. He was born in Clintwood, VA and was the son of the late Buster and Opal Mullins. Besides his relationship with his Lord and Savior, his family was always his top priority. He moved to Kingsport in 1966 where he worked for Holston Defense and retiring from Eastman Chemical Company where he developed such cherished lasting friendships that still existed up until his death. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Ouida Kennedy, Billie Bochat, and Maxine Rose. James (BJ) Mullins is survived his loving wife of 60 years, Vivian Fleming Mullins; his children, Judy Mullins, Joyce Hobbs and husband, Shannon, Jenny Williams and husband, Jim, Sylvester (Joe) Mullins; grandchildren, Kelly Carroll and husband, Doug, Victor Mullins and fiancé, Jessica Keith; Jared Williams and wife, Lisa, James Mullins and wife, Becky, Emily Hobbs, Zane Hobbs, and Andy Mullins; great grandchildren, Donavan Mullins, Evan Mullins, Greyson Mullins, twins, Cohen and Quinn Williams, along with many nieces and nephews. A gathering of friends will take place on Sunday (December 10, 2017) from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. at Carter-Trent Funeral Home, downtown Kingsport . A graveside service will follow on Sunday (December 10, 2017) at 3 p.m. at Oak Hill Memorial Park, with Pastor Tarney Mullins, officiating. Jim Williams, Jared Williams, Doug Carroll, Victor Mullins, Shannon Hobbs and Zane Hobbs are serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Sylvester Mullins, James Mullins, and Andy Mullins. The family would like to express their thanks to Smokey Mountain Home Health and Hospice for their wonderful love care and services during their time of need. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Bridge No Kill Animal Rescue, 2061-TN Hwy 75, Blountville, TN 37617. Carter-Trent Funeral Home, downtown Kingsport is serving the Mullins family.
