Joseph Frank Traylor, 72 of Lakeland, FL. Passed away Saturday October 22, 2011 after a long battle with cancer. Joe was born January 1, 1939 in Denver, Colorado to Joseph E. and Marguerite C. (Thompson) Traylor. After graduating from Denver West High School in 1958, he was drafted into the U.S. Army until his honorable discharge in 1962. He married his loving wife Sherry Gail Colvin on June 26, 1965. Joe worked as an HVAC technician supervisor for the Jefferson County School District in Colorado until his retirement in 1999. In July, 1999 Joe and his wife moved from Colorado to Monroe Wisconsin where they enjoyed retired life camping, fishing and spending time with family. In October 2010 they moved to Lakeland Florida where they spent his final days enjoying the warm sunshine. They were members of Grace Point United Pentecostal Church in Lakeland, Florida where they were blessed with a loving pastor and many dear friends. Joe greatly enjoyed the outdoors and was an avid camper/fisherman in both Wisconsin and Colorado. He was also quite the handyman able to make and repair anything he put his mind to. He also spent time watching his grandchildren in church, school and sporting events. He is survived by his loving wife Sherry, Lakeland, FL. Two daughters Shelley (Randy) Cox of Aurora, CO. and Sabrina (Eric) Schroeder of Monroe, WI. Five special grandchildren Courtney and Lindsay Cox, Aurora, CO. Bryan, Chloe and Garret Schroeder of Monroe. And his sweet dog whom he loved dearly Sassey. Donations can be made in Joe??s name to the American Cancer Society or your local animal shelter.
