Mabel Rose Foley (Smith) passed away Saturday, Jan 13th peacefully at home surrounded by her family. She was a loving, devoted mother who always looked out for the well-being of her family and many others who became an extension of her family. Mabel was born in Oakland CA and graduated from Castlemont High School (class of 1945). She was a long-time member of the choir at Christ the King Church in Pleasant Hill. She worked for several years as a hospice volunteer at Kaiser hospital in Walnut Creek. Mabel is survived by her loving husband Les; devoted children Cecelia Swanson (Smith) of Lodi CA, Chris Smith of Snohomish WA, Susan Leonard (Smith) of Brentwood CA, Timothy Smith of San Ramon CA and grandchildren Christopher, Regan, Nicholas, David, Ginette, Alec and Natalie. She is also survived by her brother Robert Speck of Pioneer CA. Mabel was predeceased by her husband Adrien Smith and oldest daughter Dorothy Smith. Her generous loving spirit will be missed by all who knew her. Friends and family are invited to a memorial service on Saturday, Feb. 3, 2018 at Christ the King Church, 199 Brandon Rd, Pleasant Hill CA.
