Mariette C. Leitl
February 21st, 1944 - November 6th, 2023
Granby -Mariette C. Leitl, 79, passed away November 6, 2023, at home surrounded by family. She was born on February 21, 1944, in Montreal Canada to Emile and Annette (Carroll) Lapointe. She recently moved to her daughter Laurie's home in Granby and previously resided in Holyoke, Easthampton and Chicopee. She retired after working for 30 years as a nurse's aide for the Chicopee Municipal Home taking care of the elderly. At the age of 50, she received her associate degree in business from Holyoke Community College. Mariette was a member of the Order of Eastern Star in Easthampton and a member of the Daughters of the Nile Foundation at Shriners Hospital in Springfield. She will be deeply missed by her husband of 53 years, Nathan H. Leitl and five children, Patti Leitl, Laurie Bernier (Barry), Michael Leitl, Daniel Leitl (Joyce) and Francis Leitl (Gina). She also leaves two brothers, Claude and Romeo Lapointe as well as 14 grandchildren, Krystle, Kelly, Barry, Mariah, Marissa, Brickelle, Madigan, Nathan, Aiden, Chantel, Justin, Rob, Kari and Heather. Many great grandchildren and step grandchildren also survive her. She was predeceased by a granddaughter Amber. A calling hour will be held at St. Theresa of Lisieux Parish in South Hadley on Tues., Nov. 14th from 10:00-11:00am, followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:00am. The burial will be at the Mass. Veterans' Memorial Cemetery in Agawam at 1:00pm. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to a Catholic charity of choice or Shriner's Hospital for Children.
