Mary K. Frost
August 16th, 1938 - October 22nd, 2013
My Life Story Mary Kathryn Frost, age 75, passed away on October 22, 2013. She was born to Maude and Elmer "Pat" Calhoun in Cape Fair, Missouri. Mary was the youngest of three children, including her sister Roberta Johnson of Colorado Springs, Colorado and an older brother, Melvin Calhoun of Wilder, Idaho. Her family moved to Idaho when she was three years old. She grew up on an apple orchard on Franklin Road, near Meridian. Mary attended Cloverdale Elementary and Meridian High School where she was both a drummer in the band and a cheerleader. At the age of 12 she met her future husband Dick Frost at a boxing match at Meridian High. In 1956 the two were married and moved to San Diego and then Vallejo, California, while Dick completed his tour withthe U.S. Navy. Thereafter, Mary and Dick moved back to Boise and raised three great children, Jere, Tere and Darin. Mary started her career in the insurance business working for Mutual of New York and American Reserve Life in Boise. In 1971, Mary and Dick moved to Lewiston where she continued her career in the insurance business with Agriculture Insurance Administrators until her retirement in 1993 as Vice President of Administration. Mary was extremely active in the Epsilon Sigma Alpha sorority (ESA), working to raise funds for the Easter Seal Society and St Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital. Mary was International President for ESA during 1992 and ‘93. After retiring, Mary and Dick moved back to Meridian in 1997, after spending three years in McCall. All three of their children beat them back to the Meridian area: Jere Frost and wife, Danetta, Eagle; Tere and husband, Steve Wielang, Middleton; and Darin Frost, Middleton. Mary and Dick were fortunate to be able to travel extensively, including trips to Australia, New Zealand and almost all the U.S. states and always carried their golf clubs. Mary was a very good golfer and enjoyed playing at the Cherry Lane golf course. Mary loved working with crafts, as well as crocheting, needle point and knitting. Mary was preceded in death by her parents and a grandson, Bryan R. Frost of Eagle, whom Mary thought the world of. Throughout her life, Mary found nothing was too great of a challenge. She will be greatly missed, especially her beautiful smile with the dimples and her quick wit. Mary touched many lives and will continue to have a big impact on her friends and family because of her personality and happy-go-lucky attitude. Viewing will begin at 6:00 PM with the vigil service to follow at 7:00PM on Thursday, October 24, 2013 at Holy Apostles Catholic Church, 6300 N. Meridian Road, Meridian. Funeral services will be held at 11:00AM on Friday, October 25, 2013 also at Holy Apostles. Burial will be at the Meridian Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Accent Funeral Home, Meridian. 888-5833. Remembrances may be left for the family atwww.AccentFuneral.com. We Entrusted Mary K. Frost's Care To
Accent Funeral Home
A local landmark in Meridian, Accent Funeral Home has been serving the community since 1986. The business was first established with a vision to offer services in a comfortable, homelike atmosphere. This vision is reflected in our building, a Tudor-style home built in 1938 for a local postman. When remodeling the house to accommodate the funeral home, much care was taken to preserve the original architectural integrity of the building. The Accent Funeral Home holds a special relationship with the Meridian community and is sensitive to the area’s changing needs, providing service and friendship to comfort those we serve....
