Maureen Alison Westover

Maureen Alison Moore Westover passed away unexpectedly September 17, 2021 at the age of 66. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. Maureen was born on March 28, 1955 to Donald Louis and Kathryn Marie (Davis) Moore in San Francisco, California. They lived in the El Sobrante/Richmond area until Maureen was twelve, at which point they moved to Concord. She graduated from Clayton Valley High School in 1973. It was in high school where she met her future husband and the love of her life, Gale Kay Westover. Gale and Maureen were married on August 23, 1974 in the Oakland Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She attended Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah for one year and worked for a clothing manufacturer until she had her first of eight children. Her family was the most important thing in her life - extended family included. She loved the chaos of family gatherings for any occasion big or small. After college they spent a year in Pittsburg, CA and seven years in Price, Utah. They returned to Concord, CA in 1985 where Gale worked along side his father to build Maureens dream home. They have lived there ever since. Maureen not only served her family tirelessly, but served in many capacities for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She made many lifelong friends everywhere she went and genuinely loved each of them. Maureen is survived by her loving husband Gale and her children Julie Anne Hacking, Tamara Christine Clifford (Mike), Alison Marie Bacchus (Aaron), Marc Ryan Westover (Jessica), Eric Scott Westover (Kelly), Christopher Chad Westover (Amber), Michael Anthony Westover (Amy) and Mark Andrew Poss (Sarah) and twenty-two grandchildren whom she adored. She is preceded in death by her parents, Don and Kay Moore, a stillborn brother, and her grandson Jacob Clifford. Services will be held Friday September 24, 2021 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at 1360 Alberta Way, Concord CA 94521. A viewing will be held at 10 AM followed by the funeral at 11 AM.
