Nancy L. (Hakala) Burch, 53, of Cromwell passed away Friday, July 5, 2013 after a strong hard fight against cancer. She was born December 10, 1959 in Cloquet to Arnold and Dorothy (Strandberg) Hakala. Nancy graduated from Cromwell Wright High School in 1977. She married Martin Burch on April 7, 1989. Nancy was a housekeeper at Cloquet Memorial Hospital. Nancy enjoyed bird watching, gardening, and doing jigsaw and crossword puzzles. She was very devoted to her children and grandchildren. Nancy had a way of making anyone and everyone feel special in her presence. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Johnny; and nephew, Casey. Nancy is survived by her husband, Martin; daughter, Kayla Burch (Keith Clark) of Wright; four sons, T.J. Jankowski (Angie Sanvig) of Cloquet, Sean Jankowski (Melisa Bachler) of Askov, Tony Jankowski (Sheena Rowell) of Tamarack, and Marty (Carissa) Burch of Cromwell; two sisters, Lola Hakala (Kevin Davis) of Cromwell and Jill (Donald) Laatsch of Duluth; two brothers, Bill (Beth) Hakala of Floodwood and Tom Hakala of Hermantown; grandchildren, Brianna, Brooke, Bryson, Dawson, Noah, Jessica, Jasmine, Jenna, and one on the way; nieces, nephews and many cousins, including one of her cousins and best friend, Edward Hakala. Funeral services were held on Friday, July 12, 2013 in the Cromwell Pavilion. Burial was in Eagle Lake Cemetery in Cromwell.
