Norman Loux Thresher
November 28th, 1917 - September 6th, 2004
" Norman Loux Thresher, 86, of Shearer St., died Monday at Heywood Hospital in Gardner, MA. Mr. Thresher was born Nov. 28, 1917 and was a former resident of the Quabbin town of Greenwich Village. He came to Palmer in 1938 to learn the trade of carpentry along side his uncle George B. Loux. Norman worked for Rathbone Corporation for 40 years and retired in 1981. He was a member of the Second Congregational of Church of Palmer, the Friends of Quabbin and the Swift River Valley Historical Society. Norman was also an avid golfer and bowler. He was predeceased by his wife Loretta (Erikson) Thresher (2003) and a son Gary Thresher in (1950). He is survived by five children David Thresher of Union, Ct, Kenneth Thresher of Lakewood, WA, Alan Thresher of Brimfield, Shirley Meyer of Warren, ME and Norma Jenkins of Brimfield. He also leaves sister Marjorie Vincent of W. Brookfield and several grandchildren and great grandchildren. A funeral service will be Monday at 10:00 a.m. at the BEERS & STORY PALMER FUNERAL HOME, followed by burial in Oak Knoll Cemetery. Calling hours are Sunday from 6-8:00 p.m. Donations may be made in his memory to the Alzheimer’s Association P.O. Box 2873 Springfield, MA 01101 or to the Congregational Church of Palmer, 1080 Pleasant St., Palmer, MA 01069"
