Matthew 25:23 “His Lord said unto him, Well done, good and faithful servant; thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy Lord.” Raymond “Ray” Curtis Hamrick Sr., age 66 of Kingsport, TN, entered into the glories of Heaven on Friday, June 9, 2023. Ray was born on November 23, 1956, in Chicago, IL to Arthur and Patricia Hamrick. Ray worked as a contractor in the construction industry for many years. On May 21, 1999, Ray married his most cherished, and best friend, Renee Hickman, and after 24 years of a beautiful marriage and serving the Lord together, she survives. Ray enjoyed cooking and playing computer games. However, more than cooking and playing games, Ray was a servant of Jesus Christ. Ray was always more than happy to share his personal testimony of how Jesus Christ changed his life. He was a devoted Christian, and an active member of Shekinah Church. Ray was preceded in death by his mother; adopted son, Jonathan Howard Whitney; and his sister, Sharon Darcy. Those left to cherish Ray’s memory and testimony are his wife, Renee Hamrick; his father, Arthur Hamrick; daughters, Ruth Anne Hamrick, and Savana Ambros and husband Michael; son, Raymond Hamrick, II; grandchildren, Tyler, Oliver, Shawn, Lilah, Steven, Faith, and Thomas; his favorite puppy buddy, Micah; sister-in-law, Janet Akins and husband Terry; brother-in-law, Bill Hickman and wife Vicki; and many loving family members, church family, and friends. The family requests that no flowers be sent. A memorial service will be scheduled at a later date, and Ray will be laid to rest at Shekinah Church Cemetery. Carter Trent Funeral Home Kingsport is serving the Hamrick family.
