Samuel Ray “Sam” Pardon, 75, of Kernersville, NC passed away peacefully at home; Monday, May 13, 2024. Samuel Ray “Sam” Pardon was born in Forsyth County, NC to the late Martha Mae Scott Windham; and the late Fred Ray Pardon. Sam's heart belonged to South Side, Winston Salem NC. Sam was an honorably discharged United States Combat Marine; Vietnam Veteran. Sam continued his service through many of the Veteran related organizations in an around the Winston Salem Triad Area. Sam honored his fellow Veterans and their families through his tireless commitment as the Director of the Winston Salem Triad Veterans Day Parade. Stock car racing was in Sam Pardons blood as a NASCAR circuit member and official. Sam’s recent employment was with Winston Salem Forsyth County School System; and Bowman Gray Stadium, NASCAR. Sam’s alternative personality; as he had many; was Rules of the duo; Night Flight With Rules & Michelle; on WTOB 96.7 WTOB 980.com. Rules {Sam’s} favorite line was “you can hear us all around the world at WTOB 980.com; even South Side! Sam had an array of hobbies which included but not limited to; gardening, welding, woodworking, vintage-classic automobiles, his corvette in particular. Sam had been known to greet the sunrise and kiss the sunset on his Harley. Survivors include his sons, Max Pardon and wife, Courtney, and Kenny; granddaughter, Avery Dare Pardon; siblings, William David “Billy” Windham, Clesteen Windham, and Darrell Windham. A memorial service celebrating Sam’s life will be held at 1:00 PM Wednesday, May 22, 2024, at the Pierce-Jefferson Funeral Services Kernersville Chapel. There will be a reception for his many friends immediately following the service at the American Legion Post 55, 111 Miller Street, Winston-Salem, NC 27103. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Veterans Cup, 6255 TownCenter Drive, Suite #2, Clemmons, NC 27012 www.veteranscup.org Friends and family may offer online condolences at www.piercejeffersonfh.com
