Shirley Janet Musick McCauley
November 4th, 1938 - November 6th, 2018
Janet McCauley Shirley Janet Musick McCauley, 80, of Kingsport went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, November 6, 2018 at her residence. She was born in Abingdon, VA to the late Shirley King Musick and Bessie Ellen Montgomery Musick and was raised in the Denton Valley Community. Janet was a loving wife, mother, and friend and was known for her wonderful sense of humor. She was a wonderful cook and always welcomed friends and family to her home. Janet was very active in her children’s and grandchildren’s activities as they grew. She loved animals and took in many dogs and cats over the years, she also enjoyed spending time in her flower garden. Janet loved the Lord and was an active member of Bethel Presbyterian and Preston Hills Presbyterian when her health permitted. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Isaac William Musick and Nannie Lee Henry Musick; maternal grandparents, Walter Robert “Mutt” Montgomery and Minnie May Smith Montgomery. Survivors include her loving husband of 61 years, F. Conley McCauley Sr.; son, Franklin Conley McCauley Jr. and wife Cheryl; daughter, Janet Ann McCauley Trent and husband Tom; grandchildren, Brooke Blessing Graham and husband William, Daniel Blessing and wife Jennifer, Matthew Blessing and wife Morgan, and Madison McCauley; great-grandchildren, Isabella Graham, Olivia Blessing, Caroline Blessing, and Camden Blessing; brother, Jerry Musick and wife Jeffery; along with a host of friends and extended family. The family will receive friends on Saturday, November 10, 2018 at Carter-Trent Funeral Home downtown, Kingsport from 2pm to 4pm. A funeral service will follow with Rev. Barron Hopper officiating. Graveside services will be conducted at 3pm on Sunday, November 11, 2018 at the Green Springs Presbyterian Church Cemetery with family and friends serving as pallbearers. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the cemetery by 2:50pm. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Asbury Baysmont, Amedysis Hospice, Holston Valley Medical Center, Sullivan County EMS, Kingsport Fire Department, and her dedicated in home caregivers, for their loving care and assistance. In lieu of flowers the family request memorial contributions be made to Preston Hills Presbyterian Church at 4701 Orebank Rd. Kingsport,TN 37664. Carter-Trent Funeral Home downtown, Kingsport is serving the McCauley family.
