Susan M. Bare

Susan M. Bare passed away on September 10, 2020 at the age of 75. She is survived by Richard, her husband of 53 years, son Eric, daughter-in-law Heather, grandchildren Andrew, Parker, Ethan and Mayli and daughter Jodi Evans, son-in-law Christopher, and granddaughters Taylor and Makayla. She is also survived by brother Jay Steinbarger and his wife Tricia and sister Ann and her husband Ray Raczkowski. Susan was the eldest child, born April 27, 1945 to Jim and Mickey Steinbarger in Indianapolis, Indiana. She had two siblings, Jay and Ann. Susan graduated from North Central High School in 1963 and went on to attend Indiana University and graduated from Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana where she earned a Bachelors of Science degree in Speech and Hearing Pathology in 1967 and later that summer married Richard Bare. She worked as a speech pathologist in Lafayette, IN, Valdosta and Atlanta, GA and Tacoma, WA as she and Richard moved for his Air Force career. She also worked as Director of Volunteers at Metro Atlanta Rehabilitation Residences where she helped individuals recovering from drug and alcohol addiction. In 1990, she and Richard moved to Parker, CO where she continued her volunteering activities at Sky Ridge Medical Center. Susan was very strong in her Christian faith. She was selfless, always putting others needs above her own. She was a very giving, loving individual and thoroughly enjoyed spending time with family, especially spoiling her grandchildren. Always a positive, happy, loving spirit, she will be greatly missed.
