Vincent Ruiz

Vince Ruiz passed away peacefully on July 1, 2015 in Santa Clara, CA surrounded by his loving family. Born and raised in Monterey, Vince was very athletic from early on. He played football, baseball and basketball for Monterey High School, where he lettered in all three sports, and went on to play football at Monterey Peninsula College. Vince served in the US Army from 1953-1955, returning home to marry the love of his life, Marie Fuggetta in 1956. Vince and Marie started their family in Monterey where they lived until 1960, when he was asked to join Goldeen's Home Furnishings in San Jose, CA. In 1975, Vince ventured out as an independent wholesale Furniture Sales Representative spending the next 40 years covering Northern California and the West. In addition to his family and friends, Vince had a deep love for the entire Home Furnishing Industry, considering colleagues and clients some of his closest friends. Vince loved all sports, especially golf, the Golden State Warriors and Oakland A's. He was passionate about his family and friends, including his ICF family with whom he and Marie actively participated in local Monterey events. Vince's greatest joy was spending time with his family, especially his 5 grandchildren. Vince is preceded in death by his parents Vince and Pearl Ruiz, brother Manuel Ruiz and sister Mary Napoli. He is survived by his loving wife Marie of 59 years, daughters Pearl Bailey(Tom), Ellie Hitchcock(Peter), Kathy Bouslog(Brian), Angela Doyle(Chris), grandchildren Lauren Rippee, Tommy Bailey, Dayle Rippee, Kyle Stone, Shane Downing, sister Pearl Bruno(Joe), and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Vince was loved by all who knew him, and will be greatly missed for his kind heart, gentle soul and generous nature. A visitation will be held at San Carlos Cathedral Wednesday, July 15th from 6-7 pm with vigil/rosary at 7 pm. A Funeral Mass and Celebration of Vince's life will be Thursday, July 16 at San Carlos Cathedral at 9:30 am.
