William John Mayer

William J. Mayer May 27, 1921 �" April 23, 2007 Age: 85 Residence: Platteville, Colorado Tribute: William John Mayer was born in LaSalle, CO to Louis and Ida (Gehring) Mayer. Mr. Mayer grew up and attended school in LaSalle. On September 24, 1942 he married Madeline Tullos. Mr. Mayer was enlisted in the Army serving in WWII in the Philippines. After his time in the Army he farmed. Mr. Mayer enjoyed golfing, fishing, and bowling. He was a member of the Elks Club in Longmont. Mr. Mayer passed away April 23, 2007 at North Colorado Medical Center, Hospice unit. Survivors: wife, Madeline; two sons, Richard Elmer Mayer and wife Kathy of Tampa, FL, and Kenneth John Mayer and wife Lila of Platteville, CO.; five grandchildren, Julie Ann Mayer of Tampa, FL, Kristine Elizabeth Mayer of Tampa, FL, Kevin Mayer of Platteville, CO, Christopher Mayer of Platteville, and Scott Mayer of Denver, CO; and four great-grandchildren, Joshua, Caden, Elijah, and Trinity . He is also survived by a sister, Hilda Doors of Dayton, OH. Preceded in death by: parents, daughter Carolyn Lee, and two brothers, Fred and Walt Mayer. Visitation: 4:00 �" 6:00 p.m. Thursday April 26, 2007 at Adamson West Chapel. Services: 10:30 a.m. Friday April 27, 2007 at First United Methodist Church of Platteville.
