Yrene Ramirez Bastardo, 83, of Greeley, CO died December 7, 2009 at her home. She was born October 20, 1926 in Rockwood, TX to Jose and Elena (Montalbo) Ramirez. On March 27, 1942 she married Jose’ Conrado Bastardo. Yrene worked in the housekeeping department at North Colorado Medical Center and at Garden Square of Greeley. After retiring she did home health care. She was a member of LAAM, Rodarte Seniors and Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church. She participated in a Cunsillista Retreat with Our Lady of Peace Church and spent numerous hours doing volunteer work at the Rodarte Senior Center. Raising her family was her greatest achievement. She was very close to her granddaughter, Alanna Roybal and her great granddaughter, Myah Joy Roybal. She is survived by daughters, Dolores Gutierrez and Agedita Trevino of Lubbock, TX, Alicia Bastardo of Levelland, TX; sons, Jose Bastardo and Mario Bastardo of Lubbock, Arthur Bastardo and Fernando Bastardo of Greeley; siblings, Felipe Ramirez , Amalia Garcia and Josie Baros, all of Greeley, Bill Ramirez of Rowena, TX, Linda Ramirez of Santa, Ana, CA, Alicia Ramirez of Poway, CA, Teodora Garcia of Dallas/Ft. Worth, TX; 20 grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Jose’; siblings, Raul Ramirez, Amelia Melendez and Lupe Vasquez. Recitation of the Rosary will be at 6:00 p.m. Thursday at Adamson Chapel, 2000 47th Avenue, Greeley. Memorial Mass will be held at a later date.
