Mark Edwin Gronquist

Mark Edwin Gronquist passed away surrounded by the love of family, leaving behind a legacy of hard work, humor, and deep devotion to those he cared about most.

Mark is survived by his loving spouse, Sandra Gronquist. He was a proud father to Nathan Widdifield (born September 13, 1988), stepson Jaidy Widdifield (born April 9, 1992), Mark Gronquist (born April 21, 1995), and Madeline Gronquist (born October 24, 1996). He was also a cherished grandfather to Adrian, Araya, Elijah, Ezekiel, Ellie, Ezmae, Giovanni, Sofia, Santiago, Olivia, Jianna, Evelyn, Clyde, Xander, Ivan, Leia, and Katalina.

He is survived by his siblings, Michelle Thomasson and LeeAnne Gilliam.

Mark was preceded in death by his spouse, Brandy Hunter Gronquist; his child, Mikalya Gronquist; his grandchild, Taylor Gronquist; and his parents, Dale Gronquist and Georgia Varra. He is also reunited with his grandparents, Madeline and Kermit Gronquist, and Avis and Harry Varra.

Mark was known for his strong work ethic, caring nature, and big heart. He always put others before himself and was someone people could count on. He had a great sense of humor and was deeply loved as a husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle, and friend.

He had a passion for sports, playing both baseball and football in his younger years and earning recognition for the most stolen bases in high school. He loved hunting and was a die-hard Denver Broncos fan who especially enjoyed attending games.

A service will be held on April 17, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Bridgeway Church, 5201 E. Warren Ave, Denver, CO 80222.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to Bridgeway Church, their family and friends, Denver Water, fellow contractors, and the sober community for their support and care.

Mark will be remembered as outgoing, a true family man, and someone who lived with compassion.
