Katherine (Kimball) Carbone
July 5, 1949 — February 10, 2026
Katherine Kimball Carbone, born July 5th, 1949, transitioned to meet her Lord and Savior Jesus, on Tuesday, February 10th, 2026.
Katherine “Kathy” was born to Richard and Ann (Parr) Kimball in Oswego, and grew up around New York State, becoming a lifelong Syracuse area resident since 1965. After marrying David Carbone in 1970, she made her home in Solvay, eventually working for its school district, and ultimately retiring in 2011.Kathy came to life-saving and life-changing faith in Jesus Christ in 1979, raising her family in the knowledge of the Lord. Over her spiritual journey, she was a member of a few churches, and ultimately Abundant Life Church, where she faithfully served the church body as well as areas of the community. The ministry of Adult and Teen Challenge was also dear to her heart, having been a faithful supporter and volunteer for several years. And when Kathy found time for herself, it would often be spent with her family, as well as just she and her beloved husband on any given golf course.
Kathy leaves behind David, her husband of 55 years; her three children, Heidi Frederick of San Jose, CA, Geoffrey (Angela) of Clay, NY, and Whitney (John) Khan of Statesville, NC; a granddaughter Melody Khan and grandson Stephen Oei; 4 great-grandchildren; a brother, Peter Kimball, a sister Kandace Bradley; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Richard Kimball; her sisters, Kerry Honors, Kristen Brooks, and Karen Bennett.
Calling hours will be held in her honor at Abundant Life Church, East Syracuse, on Friday, March 6th from 11am to 1pm, with a service following.
