Charles Jaster
Jun 23, 1955 — Oct 19, 2026
It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Charles A. Jaster, who departed this world suddenly on October 19, 2026. Born in Nazareth Hospital, Philadelphia, PA, on June 23, 1955, Charles was a beloved brother, brother-in-law, step-father, uncle, cousin and friend to many. Charles was the cherished son of the late Charles and Eileen (Cassidy) Jaster and was predeceased by his brothers John and Joseph, brother-in-law Gene Callaghan, niece Danielle Jaster, nephew Steven Jaster and friend Terry Mack. He leaves behind his devoted siblings, Maureen (John) Whitham and Kathleen Callaghan, sister-in-laws Mary Glenn Jaster and Marie Morsa Jaster, and step-son Aaron Mack. Charles was a proud uncle to Erin Whitham (Ross) Baker, John (Alison) Whitham, Colin (Joycel) Callaghan, Kaitie Callaghan (Josh) Dero, Kelsey Callaghan (Tom), Connor Callaghan, and Timothy Jaster. He was a great uncle to Graham Baker, Chloe Baker, Charlotte Whitham, Sebastian Callaghan, Stephen Dero, Della Dero, Tilly Dero, Julian Winston and Kai Winston. We cannot forget the Jaster, Forst, Cassidy & Connolly cousins.
A proud resident of the greatest neighborhood in Philly, Olney, Charles attended Incarnation of Our Lord '69 and Cardinal Dougherty High School '73. He worked at Fleers Bubblegum, Snyder's Home & Garden, and Washington Inventory Service. When he moved to Florida Charles built a career that allowed him to combine his love of baseball with his charismatic personality. A lifelong Phillies fan he was employed by BayCare Ballpark in Clearwater, FL, where he sold programs and then graduated to the ticket window. His colleagues and fans alike admired his quick wit and generosity, which left a lasting impact on everyone he encountered.
Charles had an innate ability to bring joy and laughter into any room he entered. His family and friends will remember him for his warmth, kindness, and the genuine affection and loyalty he showed to those around him.
A funeral Mass to honor and celebrate Charles' life will be held in the future at Our Lady Help of Christians in Abington, PA. Burial will be private at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Philadelphia, PA. Family and friends are invited to remember Charles and share in the love and memories that he leaves behind.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice, in memory of Charles's generous spirit and his commitment to helping others. As we say goodbye to Charles, we take comfort in knowing that his legacy of laughter and love will forever remain in our hearts. May he rest in peace, reunited with those he cherished and who have gone before him.
