Iris J Manley (James) age 91, passed away November 25, 2025 in Hospice care at Orlando Health Bayfront Hospital in St. Petersburg, Florida. She was born in Camber County Kentucky and was the oldest of 6 children. 

Iris enlisted in Women’s Army Corps (WAC) as a private in the United States Army, and resided in Okinawa, Japan during the Korean war. After military service, she resided in Columbus, Ohio with her family before moving to Gulfport, Florida. She is predeceased by her husband United States Army Master Sergeant Richard Manley, and her daughter Elizabeth Anne Murray.

Iris is survived by her sister Betty Crabbe and brother Steven James; her children Linda Sue Petsch, Robert Manley,Sr and Mary Peck. She has 4 grandchildren, Aaron Brown, Robert Brown, Heather Manley and Robert Manley Jr; 2 great grandchildren, Greyson Manley, Cole Manley and a Baby girl Manley due in May.

Iris was a dedicated patriot and volunteer in her civilian life. She supported numerous Disabled Veterans charities, Casa of St. Petersburg, and volunteered for 40 years at both Gulfport Elementary School and Gulfport Little League. In 2013, she was honored for her lifelong volunteer services in the community by the Naomi- Titus 2 society.

Iris was known to all for her kindness, willingness to help others and sense of humor. She enjoyed making a variety of crafts and often gave them as gifts to friends and family, as well as donated them to various charities for fundraisers and events.

Her memorial service will be held on Friday, January 16th 2026 10:00am at Florida Mortuary Funeral Home 2200 31st St S St. Petersburg, Florida.

She will be interned at Royal Palm Cemetery 101 55th St. S following the memorial service.
