Rochelle Ann St. Claire

Oct 11, 1954 — Aug 31, 2026

Rochelle St. Claire was a kind and gentle woman with a loving heart, a patient spirit, and a stubborn streak that anyone who knew her will remember. She loved her daughters, Caitlin and Angela, fiercely. They were her world, and she was always there to encourage them, support them, and be patient with them through all of life's ups and downs.

Rochelle had a way of loving the people and things that mattered to her with her whole heart. She especially loved her birds. They weren't just pets to her—they were her little family, her companions, and truly her world. She took great joy in caring for them and loved each of her "bird children" dearly.

She also loved the beach and being near the water. Rochelle could sit by the water for hours or take a walk along the shore, enjoying the peace and beauty around her. She always said she felt at home when she was close to the water. It was a place where she seemed to find a sense of peace and belonging.

Rochelle also enjoyed the simple things in life, especially finding a good deal. She loved going to thrift stores and searching through everything to find that special bargain. Those little moments of happiness were part of what made her who she was.

Rochelle was preceded in death by her parents, Gordon and Lois, and her sister, Reni.

She leaves behind her daughters, Caitlin and Angela, and her grandchildren, Tiffany, Allison, Ashley, Corey, and Kirsten. Her family will carry her love and the memories they made with her for the rest of their lives.

Rochelle will be remembered for her kindness, her gentle nature, her patience, her encouragement, and, of course, her stubbornness. She will be remembered in all the little things—the sound of the waves, a walk along the beach, finding an unexpected treasure at a thrift store, and especially in the love she gave so freely to her family.

One of the greatest comforts to her family is knowing that her beloved birds will continue to be cared for. Birds of Paradise Sanctuary and Rescue in Bradenton, Florida, has opened their doors to Rochelle's "bird children" and is giving them a safe and loving place to call home. Although Rochelle never knew about the sanctuary, knowing that they are taking in and caring for the birds she loved so much means a great deal to her family.

A Celebration of Life in Rochelle’s name will be held in the spring, where family and friends will come together to remember, honor, and celebrate the beautiful life she lived. Details will be shared at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made in Rochelle's memory to Birds of Paradise Sanctuary and Rescue in Bradenton, Florida. Donations will help support the care of the birds who are now part of the sanctuary, including Rochelle's beloved birds. In this way, her love for them can continue even after she is gone.

Rochelle may no longer be sitting by the water or walking along the shore, but we hope that wherever she is, she has found the peace she always felt near the ocean.

She was loved fiercely. She will be missed more than words can say. And she will never, ever be forgotten.

Love you to the moon and back, Mom. Until we meet again.
