Jason William Negus
Apr 10, 1971 — Oct 8, 2026
Jason William Negus, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away on October 8, 2026, while doing some of the things he loved; riding the backroads of Idaho’s mountains and scouting for the upcoming hunting season.
Jason was born on April 10, 1971, to Charisse Echola and Fred Negus in Palmer, Alaska. He grew up in Alaska and graduated in1989, from Susitna Valley High School in Talkeetna, Alaska. He continued his education earning a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Idaho in 1994. Jason met Julianne, his wife of 31 years while attending college, and they married on June 10, 1995. They made a home in Boise where together, they loved raising their two sons, Jakob and Jackson. Jason began his career at Micron Technology, where he worked intermittently from 1995 until 2020. His professional journey continued with ON Semiconductor in Nampa, where he found great joy and fulfillment in his work.
Jason actively participated in the Catholic parishes of St. Mark’s and Risen Christ in Boise, Idaho. His dedication to his faith and love of the Lord Jesus Christ was evident in his behind-the-scenes work; organizing, cleaning, gardening, and supporting his parish.
A man of many passions, Jason found both solace and adventure in the great outdoors. Whether hunting, camping, skiing, or simply exploring nature, he embraced every moment. He loved vacationing with his family, gathering firewood, and capturing life’s precious moments through photography. Above all, he found joy in hanging out with his family, friends, and playing with his grandchildren.
Known for his humor, wit, and boisterous personality, Jason was the life of any gathering. His ability to connect with others and make them feel loved left an indelible mark on all who knew him. His passing leaves a void in the hearts of many, but his spirit and the beautiful memories he created will forever be cherished. Jason truly blessed this world with his vibrant spirit and contagious zest for life. Though Jason has departed from this world and joined Jesus in his Heavenly realm, his love, laughter, and togetherness will endure in the hearts of those who knew him.
Jason was preceded in death by his parents, Charisse Echola and Fred Negus; and his grandparents, Arnold and Sally Echola, and Eddie and Billie Barge. Jason’s legacy continues through his loving family who survive him: his wife, Julianne; sons, Jakob, his wife Emma, and Jackson; and grandchildren, Keeli, Noah, and Mia, and his brother Chris (Daya) and sister Roxanne.
A service honoring Jason's life will be held October 23, 2026, at 12 Noon at the Risen Christ Catholic Church, located at 11511 W. Lake Hazel Road, Boise, Idaho.
