LeRoy F. Clausen
Jul 24, 1935 — Sep 21, 2026
Leroy “Lee” Clausen, 91, of Meridian, Idaho, passed away peacefully on September 21, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.
Born on July 24, 1935, in Lewiston, Idaho, Lee was the beloved son of William and Lucile Clausen. He graduated from Lewiston High School in 1953 and went on to attend the University of Idaho, graduating in 1958. Following his education, Lee proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1958 to 1961.
While attending the university, Lee met the love of his life, Mary E. Gilderoy. The college sweethearts were united in holy matrimony on September 14, 1958, in Weiser, Idaho. Together, they shared a beautiful and devoted marriage of 68 years.
Lee dedicated 33 years to a fulfilling career in the agricultural industry, working across Central Washington and Southern Idaho. Upon his retirement, he and Mary relocated to Meridian to be closer to their family. An avid sportsman, Lee enjoyed golfing, bowling, softball, and fishing. Above all, his greatest joy in life was the time spent making memories with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Mary; his three children, Debbie (Mark) Midtlyng of Fruitland, Idaho, David (Chonita) Clausen of Nampa, Idaho, and John (Beth) Clausen of Meridian, Idaho; 11 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and his sister, Nancy Melton.
Lee was preceded in death by his parents and his sisters, Leoma Rosenau and Maylo Bickell.
