Rodger David Borge

June 21, 1953 — November 1, 2025

Rodger David Borge, age 72, passed away on November 1, 2025, at his home in Eagle, Idaho, due to complications associated with cancer.

Born on June 21, 1953, in Long Beach, California, Rodger was the only child of David and Barbara Borge. He graduated from R.A. Millikan Senior High School in 1970 and went on to earn his B.A. in Speech Communications from Long Beach State University. Following in his father’s footsteps, Rodger embarked on a long and distinguished career as a State Farm Insurance agent. Over his 40 years of service, he earned numerous professional honors, including: 26 Legion of Honor awards, 3 Bronze Tablet, 5 Silver Scroll, 5 Golden Triangle, 7 Crystal Excellence, 2 President’s Club, and 16 Life Travel awards. Rodger retired in 2017, leaving behind a legacy of dedication, skill, and genuine care for his clients and community.

Outside of work, Rodger lived life fully and with a sense of adventure. He loved: surfing, deep sea fishing, traveling, playing guitar, and attending concerts and sporting events. A devoted fan, he especially enjoyed cheering on his beloved Los Angeles Dodgers.

Rodger embraced the “always be ready” philosophy and dedicated countless hours to self-defense training and preparedness. He became a member of USCCA in 2016, obtained his CCW licenses in five states (CA, ID, OR, UT, and FL), and became a certified firearms instructor. He trained extensively with Front Sight Firearms Training Institute and Artemis Defense Institute and earned special “red tag” privileges at his local shooting range—an accomplishment he took great pride in.

Above all else, Rodger treasured time spent with family, close friends, and the love of his life: his dog Hailey. He was an active member of his community and found great purpose serving on the security team at Rockharbor Church.

Rodger is survived by his golden doodle, Hailey; Mark (Vicki) Pruner, Debbie (Andy) Allen; Amanda (Gabe) Palmquist, Joseph (Denae) Pruner, Benjamin (Heather) Pruner, Chelsea Allen, David Allen, Grace Allen, Lorine (Mike) Sheehan,  Mary (Brandon) Brooks, and Jonathan (Grace) Allen. All who knew and loved him will forever hold his memory close to their hearts.

A celebration of Rodger’s life will be held on Saturday, November 22, at his home in Eagle, Idaho. Following this event, he will be laid to rest in San Luis Obispo, California on Tuesday, November 25, 2025.
