John Stanley Madrzyk

John S. Madrzyk, 87, passed away on Saturday, September 26, 2026 surrounded by his loving family. He was born on January 4, 1939 in Chicago, Illinois. John worked as a public servant and in a variety of roles for the city of Chicago. He lived in the Chicagoland area until moving to Tucson in October of 2025.John is survived by his beloved wife of over 64 years, Diana Madrzyk. His is the loving father of Diana Lynn Johnston and John Joesph (Kelly) Madrzyk and cherished grandfather of Austin (Jenna) Madrzyk, Bailey Madrzyk, Spencer Johnston and Sydney Johnston.In his younger days, John loved playing baseball, swimming and speedskating. Later his athletic focus turned to racquetball, softball and golf. He was an avid Chicago White Sox fan and loved attending all of his kids and grandkids activities and sporting events.

Visitation will be held at Adair Funeral Home – Avalon at 8090 N Northern Ave, Oro Valley on Thursday, October 1, 2026 from 2pm – 4pm. A mass of Christian burial will be held at St. Elizabeth Ann Seaton Catholic Church at 8650 N. Shannon Rd, Tucson on Friday, October 2, 2026 at 12:00pm followed by interment at Holy Hope Cemetery, Good Shepherd Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in John’s name to The National Kidney Foundation.
