John Conrad Wieland, Jr.

John, 89, passed away surrounded by his family. He was one of the kindest and most caring people. He was a beloved husband to Betty. Father to John, Susan, Kris, Steven. Stepfather to James, Jeff and Steven. Grandfather to Aaron, Johnny, Courtney, Jennifer, Keith, Kameron, Eli and Kyle. Great grandfather to Zoey, Lucy, Aiden, Scarlett and Nolan. His absence will be felt greatly.

A keen sportsman and devoted golfer, John played whenever he could. He was so proud of not one but his two holes-in-one! He loved going to different golf courses around the country. His beloved travel partner, his wife, Betty shared his love of travel. One of their favorite destinations was Hawaii. When the grandchildren were old enough they went on trips with them. The whole family was able to go on a few very cherished trips together.

Before he retired at the age of 80, he was the CFO to Bar Credit. In 2013 he was awarded the CFO of the Year by the Tucson Chamber of Commerce. He loved his job and his coworkers. They became part of his extended family.

He was born in Philadelphia to his loving parents John and Mildred. He moved with his wife and some of his family to Tucson, AZ in 1983. It was here that he spent most of his life enjoying his family, the desert and a successful career.

What made John so special was the genuine care he showed for everyone. Guided by strong values and deep faith, he embraced not only his immediate family but his extended family as well. Making each person feel valued and loved. John’s warmth, wisdom and kindness touched so many.

There are no words that can express how much he will be missed.
