GANZER, Charles R. Beloved husband, father and grandfather passed into eternal life on August 19, 2016. Born August 17, 1934 to parents, Charles and Mary Ganzer in Kansas City, Mo. He is preceded in death by siblings, Donald, Gloria and Larry Ganzer. Dr. Ganzer attended the University of Missouri and received his medical degree from the Kansas City College of Osteopathy & Surgery. After his residency in general surgery, taken at Lakeside Hospital in Kansas City, he settled in Tucson in 1969 and practiced at Tucson General Hospital until his retirement. During these years he also practiced as an emergency room physician and medical director for Nextcare in Tucson, AZ. He was a member of Catalina Foothills Presbyterian Church where he served as an usher, a member of the welcoming committee and participated in small group bible studies. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Janice; son, Mark Smith (Yvonne); daughters, Gayle Gardner (George) and Laura Smith (Jesse), as well as 13 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by all his family and friends but leaves a storehouse of wonderful memories for which we will always be grateful. A Celebration of his Life will be held on Saturday, September 17, 2016, 2:00 p.m. at Catalina Foothills Presbyterian Church, 2150 E. Orange Grove Rd., Tucson, AZ. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made in his name to Pusch Ridge Christian Academy, Scholarship Fund. Arrangements by ADAIR FUNERAL HOMES, Avalon Chapel.
