Kathryn Ann Orth Ammon

Kathryn Ann Orth Ammon lost her valiant battle with cancer on October 4, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family at home. She was born in Concord, CA, on June 4, 1955, grew up in St. Cloud, MN, and moved to Tucson in 1974.

Known as Kathy to her St. Cloud family and friends and Katie to her Tucson family and friends, she married Jim Ammon on May 29, 1982, starting a life filled with adventure and travel together. He survives, along with their children Beth and Cort, Cort’s wife Cayci and their daughter, the light of Katie’s life, Audrey.

Other survivors include her sisters Linda Orth Schnobrich and her husband Jeff, Peggy Orth Giese and her husband Mark, her brother Dan Orth and sister-in-law Vicki Ammon Kauth and her husband Peter, along with many cousins, nieces and nephews. In recent years, she traveled the world with some of those cousins. She was deeply loved by many friends and especially close to the women of Mt. Lemmon.

Katie graduated from the University of Arizona with a degree in psychology but put her career on hold with the birth of Conrad. She poured her energies into making a beautiful home and a beautiful life for her family, creating oases in the Catalina Foothills and on Mt. Lemmon. She will be sadly missed.
