Kevin Wade Porter
May 25, 1961 — September 28, 2025
Kevin Wade Porter ("Peeps"), 64, of Tucson, Arizona, passed away on September 28th, 2025, after a long and courageous battle to recover from a traumatic brain injury.
Born on May 25th, 1961, in Hillsboro, Ohio, Kevin was known affectionately as “Peeps,” a nickname lovingly given to him by his grandchildren.
Kevin dedicated over 25 years of his life to serving the City of Tucson as an HVAC technician. He was proud of the work he did and was known for his reliability and strong work ethic. Whether troubleshooting complex systems or helping coworkers and friends with their own home repairs, Kevin took pride in doing the job right—no shortcuts, no excuses. His work left a lasting mark on the city he called home, and those who worked alongside him will remember his dependability and mentorship.
He had a natural talent for working with his hands and found joy in the simple, satisfying rhythm of a hard day’s work. Outside of work, Kevin loved sports, especially rooting for the University of Arizona Wildcats. He also had a lifelong passion for cars and particularly cherished his cherry red Dodge Hellcat. Kevin had an unshakable sweet tooth and never turned down a sweet treat or an ice-cold Coca-Cola.
Above all, Kevin was a devoted family man. He worked tirelessly to provide for and support those he loved. He didn’t need to say much; his love was shown through his actions, his consistency, and his steady presence. He was a man you could count on, and his impact will live on in the people he supported, loved, and raised.
He is survived by his former wife and their children, Rachel and Lucas Porter; his stepchildren, Teddy and Daniel Grooms; his grandchildren, who brought him great joy; and his siblings, Richard Dorman, Tony Porter, and Angela Soyring.
Kevin will be remembered for his loyalty, grit, resilience, and straightforward nature—a man who worked hard, loved his family, and showed up when it mattered.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 12th, 2025, at San Pedro Chapel in Tucson, Arizona. Guests are kindly asked to wear their favorite University of Arizona Wildcat gear in Kevin’s honor, a fitting tribute to his spirited love of sports and community.
Kevin was, and still is, deeply loved and will be missed dearly.
