Ava Faye Sharp, born Ava Faye McDonel, passed away peacefully at her home on June 17, 2026, at the age of 104. She was born on July6, 1921, in Appanoose County, Iowa. She moved to Colorado in 1947 and spent most of her years in the Eaton area before moving to Fort Morgan in 2008 and lived a long and remarkable life centered on family, hard work, and love.
On November 25, 1937, Faye married the love of her life, Glen “Willie” Sharp. Together, they shared many years of marriage and built a family whose legacy continues through generations.
Faye was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Glen “Willie” Sharp; her parents, Ryman “Dutch” and Ruby McDanel; her sisters, Ione and Irene; her brother, Wayne; her sons, Gary Sharp and Jackson “Jack” (survived by Lois) Sharp; her son-in-law, Roland Forsythe; and her grandson, Michael Bopp.
She is survived by her daughter, Elaine Forsythe ; grandchildren, Vicky (Ken) Arquello, David (Diane) Bopp, Becky (Scott) Baker, Debbie (Ian) McCorkle, Kate Pherson, Loren (Heather) Sharp; six great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends whose lives were touched by her kindness, wisdom, and enduring love.
Faye’s life spanned more than a century, witnessing extraordinary changes in the world while remaining steadfast in the values that mattered most to her. She will be remembered for her strength of character, her devotion to her family, and the warmth and care she shared with all who knew her.
Though she will be deeply missed, her memory will live on through the generations she helped shape and countless lives she influenced. Her family finds comfort in the legacy of love, perseverance, and faith she leaves behind.
A graveside Celebration of Life will be held on June 26, 2026 at 1:00 P.M., at Sunset Memorial Gardens, 3400 W 28th Street, Greeley, Colorado 80634.
