Diane Faye Carlson

Diane Faye (Smith) Carlson, 74 of Windsor, Colorado, passed away on June 26, 2026, surrounded by her family. Diane was born on July 18, 1951 to Edward and Hollis (Zimmernam) Smith in Chicago, Illinois. Diane was a graduate of Wheeling High School and attended Harper College before marrying Roland Carlson on October 8, 1972. Diane and Roland went on to have two children and Diane stayed home to raise her family. Diane and the family moved from Illinois to Estes Park, Colorado in 1992 where she became an office manager at an urgent care. Diane was loved by many for her sweet and fun personality. Her greatest joy in life were her family and five grandkids. She loved spending time attending all of the grandkids' sports events, special recitals, and watching each one of them grow from infants and being able to attend her oldest grandson’s high school graduation. Diane would tell every person she met all about her grandkids and how proud she was of her family. Diane is survived by her husband, Roland; children, Craig (Katrina) Carlson, Michelle (Steve) Shipp; and her five grandchildren. She is also survived by her mother, Hollis, and sister Elaine (Brent) Carlson, brother in-law Curt (Inger) Carlson, as well as many nieces and nephews.
