John Porfilio Silva

John P. Silva, 78, of Denver, CO, passed away on May 10, 2026.

Born on May 15, 1947, in Weston, Colorado, the son of Jacinto and Eduvigen Silva.

He was a Veteran in the U.S. Army. Following his military service, he dedicated 45 years of hard work at Rocky Mountain Prestress, where he worked as a Commercial Heavy Machinery Mechanic and Operator before retiring. John was a longtime member of LIUNA local 720 for more than 45 years, as well as a member of The Rocky Mountain Elks Foundation and The American Legion.

On November 28, 1970, John married Connie. Together they shared 55 years of marriage filled with lots of memories, loyalty and orneriness!

John was a father figure to Melanie (Chuck), Valerie and Ron (Emily) and the Best Grandpa to Aaralyn, Jackson, Ivy, Conner and Samantha, all of whom looked up to John and will miss his presence in their lives. John loved the outdoors and enjoyed staying busy. He especially enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting and just spending time in the mountains. He also enjoyed woodworking and took pride in his projects and craftsmanship. He had a true green thumb and enjoyed working in his garden. He maintained a large and impressive vegetable garden that he cared for with dedication. John will be remembered for his love of the outdoors, his joking personality, his hard work ethic, his devotion to his wife and everything that he selflessly did for his family.

John will be missed tremendously.

John is survived by his wife, Connie of Denver, CO; siblings: Isabell of Rociada, NM; Alfred (Irene) of Greeley, CO; Carmen (Fred) of Trinidad, CO; Chris (Nancy) of Greeley, CO; numerous nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews, and extended family.

He is preceded in death by his parents Jacinto and Eduvigen Silva; sisters Theresa, Tilly, Marie, Anna Marie and Julia.

A Recitation of the Rosary will be held at 12:00 P.M. Tuesday, May 19th, 2026, at Adamson Life Celebration Home, 2000 47th Avenue, Greeley, Colorado. 80634 Followed by a Graveside Committal Service at 1:00 P.M. at Linn Grove Cemetery,1700 Cedar Avenue, Greeley, Colorado 80631
