Jon E. Blair

Jan 25, 1957 — Jul 6, 2026

Jon Edward Blair passed into glory on July 6, 2026, at the age of 69. Jon was born in Portland, Oregon on January 25, 1957, to loving parents, Jack and Lavonne Blair. He enjoyed a happy childhood in the rolling hills and dense woods of Saint Helens, Oregon, a small town on the banks of the mighty Columbia River. Here he graduated high school in 1975 and went on to graduate from Oregon State University. After college Jon worked as a CPA in Portland, and it was at this time while attending a Bible study at Hinson Baptist Church that he met and soon married Wendy Jeanne, the love of his life.

Jon spent years in the financial world, building a reputation of integrity: first, as the city tax collector for Saint Helens, then as a CPA, and finally as the corporate controller for a local firm in the Tricities of Washington. However, when Jon turned 40 he could no longer deny the call to gospel ministry. He left the financial district and entered Mid-America Reformed seminary where he graduated with a Masters of Divinity in the year 2000, and became a minister of the gospel of Jesus for the Reformed Church of the United States. Jon faithfully served as the pastor for Providence Reformed Church of Rock Springs, Wyoming from 2000-2006, and for Grace Reformed Church of Greeley, Colorado from 2006-2022. The Lord used this gentle and steady man to love and minister to countless people in his congregation, communities, and family. Jon also loved the outdoors, whether it was walking along the sandy beaches of the Oregon coast, sitting by the Columbia River, or fly fishing and hiking the Rocky Mountains.

Jon is survived by his wife, Wendy, of 43 years; children, Jesse (Kristy) Green of Cape Cod, MA and their children Taran and Rylee; Carson (Hannah) Blair of Greeley, CO and their children, Alexis, Scout, Willa, Robert, Hermione, Jack, Viggo and Avonlea; Jonathan (Chelsea) Blair of Greeley, CO and their daughter, Melanie; Anna (Garrett) Hill of Greeley, CO and their children, Grayson, Oakley, Lochlan, and Oliver; and his sisters, Ellen (Mark), Missy (Mark) and Jill (Dave).

He was preceded in death by his parents Jack and Lavonne Blair.

A memorial service for Jon will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, July 16th at Grace Reformed Church (1501 10th Ave, Greeley, CO 80631 ), followed by a graveside service at Linn Grove Cemetery (1700 Cedar Ave, Greeley, CO 80631), with a luncheon reception afterwards at Zoe’s Cafe around 12:15 (715 10th St, Greeley, CO 80631).
