Karen Denise Tennant

Karen D. Tennant, 65, of Berthoud, Colorado, passed away on March 3, 2026, at home surrounded by her loving family.

She was born May 20, 1960, in Sterling, Colorado to Garry and Virginia Kennedy.

Karen grew up in Longmont and graduated from Longmont High School in 1978. She worked as a secretary at Realty Firms, but spent the last 22 years working as a medical chiropractic assistant.

Karen met Bart when his dad arranged their first date in 1979. They were married at St. Malo Church in Allenspark, Colorado and had 44 wonderful years together.

Karen was a devoted mother, daughter, sister, and friend. She loved nature, traveling, and most of all spending time with family and friends.

She is survived by her son, Cody (Amy), of Timnath; siblings, Debra (Bob), of Ft. Lupton, Leanna (Pat) of Kennewick, Washington, Scott (Pam) Tennant, of Niwot; Shari (Michael) Johnson, of Longmont, and Kent (Jenny) Tennant of Firestone; along with many beloved nephews, nieces, and great-nephews and nieces.

Karen was proceeded by her loving husband, Bart; and her parents, Garry and Virginia.

Karen’s Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, March 17, 2026, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. A reception to follow the service. Burial of her urn will take place at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, March 18, 2026, in Johnstown Cemetery.
