________________________________________
Larry Lee Oltman, 79, of Greeley, Colorado, passed away at home on Saturday, October 24, 2026, after a life well lived, knowing how deeply he was loved by his family.
Larry dedicated his life to agriculture, farming, and serving the agricultural community he loved. Born July 21, 1947, Larry spent his childhood years on a farm in Beatrice, Nebraska. In 1960, He moved from Nebraska to Greeley, Colorado with his parents, Reinder “Ray” Oltman and LaVada Lorraine Oltman, and sister Mary Ann.
Larry attended Greeley Central High School, graduating in 1965. Soon afterward, he enlisted in the United States Air Force and proudly served during the Vietnam War.
Larry was born into the farming world and made agriculture and agricultural equipment sales his career. He farmed in the Eaton, Colorado, area and spent much of his professional life working in and around agricultural equipment. His knowledge of farming, equipment, and the agricultural industry earned him the respect and trust of farmers and ranchers throughout Colorado and the western United States. Larry traveled throughout the West for his work, almost always choosing to travel by car because he believed it provided greater flexibility and helped him build stronger connections with his clients.
Larry owned and operated his own agricultural equipment company, Oltman Agri-Sales, in Fremont, Nebraska, for twelve years. During that time, he built lasting relationships throughout the farming community and developed a reputation for honesty, hard work, and treating people fairly. Whether in the field, at a dealership, or across a kitchen table discussing equipment needs, Larry valued people and took pride in helping others succeed.
In 1985, Larry married JoAnn Pirsig in Minnesota. Together they returned to Greeley where they built a life centered on family, friendship, and hard work.
Above all else, Larry was devoted to his family. Nothing brought him greater joy than watching his family grow through the generations. He loved family gatherings, sharing stories, offering guidance, and celebrating the accomplishments of his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Larry is survived by his loving wife, Jo Ann Oltman; his sister, Mary Ann Wolfrum; his sons, David Krosch, Jason Oltman, and Justin Oltman; his daughters, Lori Clark and Jaime Turner; 12 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; and nieces, nephews, extended family members, friends, and members of the community whose lives he touched.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Reinder “Ray” Oltman and LaVada Lorraine Oltman.
Larry will be remembered for his unwavering work ethic, his integrity, his sense of humor, and his dedication to family. He believed in keeping his word, sharing wisdom with his family, delivering a well-timed dad joke, and working hard for the things that mattered most. The values he lived by live on in the family he loved and in the many friendships he cultivated throughout his life.
His legacy is one of hard work, perseverance, and a deep love for his family. He will be greatly missed and fondly remembered by all who knew him.
“A life rooted in family, friendship, agriculture, and service is a life well lived.”
