Lovona Jean Maple, 89, passed away peacefully at home on October 1, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. Lovona was born and raised in Denver, Colorado, before moving with her parents to California. She graduated from high school in Redondo Beach in 1954. A talented ballet dancer in her youth, she later married her one and only, John “Scott” Maple, with whom she shared a wonderful marriage of 50 years. Their love was the foundation of a beautiful family blessed with four children.

Lovona was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Ruth MacIvor; her husband, John S. Maple; and three of her four children, James “Scott” Maple, Kathy L. Watkins, and John F. Maple.

She is survived by her son, Daniel L. Maple; daughters-in-law, Susan Maple and April Maple, ten grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.

Lovona was a gifted artist, and art teacher well known throughout the Brookings Harbor, Oregon community for her creativity and talent. She will be remembered for her kindness, her elegance, and her deep devotion to her family and to the Lord throughout her life.

Two services will be held in her honor, the first will be 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 20, 2026, at Adamson Life Celebration Home in Greeley Colorado. The second will be a graveside service held in Brookings, Oregon, where she will be laid to rest with her beloved husband, John.
