Nellie Rose Spath

Nellie R. Spath, 98, passed away peacefully on July 2, 2026, at Good Samaritan in Loveland, Colorado.

Born on September 12, 1927, in Greeley, Colorado, Nellie lived a long and meaningful life marked by love, strength, and compassion. She was known for her gentle spirit, warm heart, and unwavering devotion to her family. Throughout her 98 years, she touched the lives of many with her kindness, wisdom, and generosity.

Nellie retired as the bar manager at Dick’s Tavern in Ault, Colorado, where she was well known for her friendly smile, hardworking spirit, and the lasting friendships she formed with customers and members of the community.

Outside of work, Nellie found her greatest happiness spending time with her family. She loved camping and took great pride in tending to her yard, creating a beautiful and welcoming home for those she loved. Her simple joys, generous heart, and quiet strength will be remembered by all who knew her.

Nellie was preceded in death by her parents; her siblings; her beloved husband, Joseph “J.D.” Spath; and her beloved daughter, Mary Peters.

She is survived by her cherished grandchildren, Kim Geist, J. (Carrie) Peters and Terri (Joe) Ruiz; nine great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and many other loving relatives and dear friends who will forever cherish her memory.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate staff at Good Samaritan in Loveland for the exceptional care and kindness they provided during Nellie’s final days.

Nellie will be remembered for her love of family, her hardworking nature, and the warmth and kindness she shared so freely with others. Her legacy lives on through the generations of her family and in the many friendships she made throughout her life. Though she will be deeply missed, the love she gave and the memories she created will remain forever in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.

A Viewing will take place on Tuesday, July 14, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Adamson Life Celebration Home, 2000 47th Avenue, Greeley, Colorado 80634.

Graveside Service will be Wednesday, July 15, 2026, at 1:00p.m. at Mountain View Cemetery, CR 29 ½, Nunn, Colorado 80648
