Robert Dean Stromberger
Apr 23, 1935 — Jul 19, 2026
Robert D. Stromberger passed away Sunday, July 19th, 2026, surrounded by his family at home after a long battle with cancer. Robert was born April 23, 1935, to Alec and Freida Stromberger in Bracewell, CO. He went to Windsor schools. Robert was a Sargent in the Active Army Reserves for 8 years. He served with the 356 Ordnance and 184th Transportation Units in Fort Collins.
On February 20th, 1955, he married Doris Shrouf of Greeley at Bethel Lutheran Church in Windsor, where he was a member. He was active in the choir and was the Assistant Sunday School Superintendent. He worked for Oliver Well Works, Wyman Oil Co., and Weld County in the Road and Bridge Department. He was a farm manager at Brunner Farms for 30 ½ years for Henry H. Brunner and his son, Kenton. In 1990, he was severely injured in a farming accident, causing him to leave the farm. He did part-time jobs until June 2000, when he and Doris became resident managers of Eastwood Village Mobile Home Park in Evans. In 2013, he and Doris retired when the South Platte River flooded and destroyed the entire park. 153 homes were lost.
He sang in the choir and participated in many church programs such as Christmas, Easter, and other holiday performances. At the time of his passing, he was a member of the Northern Colorado Cowboy Church in Lucerne.
He was an avid Green Bay Packers fan. He enjoyed attending various events for his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. During his many years on the Brunner Farm, he, his sons, and grandchildren shared many happy times. His family was very special to him. He loved to garden, work around the yard, and fix things.
Robert is survived by his wife of 71 years, Doris; son Dean and Vicky of Evans, daughter Renae and Chryl of Granbury, TX, and son Brian and Shelly of Foley, AL. He has five grandchildren, Troy, Melissa, Heather, Ashley, and Jordan; 17 great-grandchildren, 2
great-great-granddaughters, one great-great-grandson, and his sister Shirley Weber of Ogden, UT. The Brunner family and Ken Schrader families are very special to the Stromberger family, as are many other friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, sister, grandparents, and his grandsons Brock and Brent.
There will be a gathering to remember Robert and share stories on August 22nd, 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Northern Colorado Cowboy Church, 33131 US-85, Lucerne, CO 80646. Dress
is casual, with Green Bay Packers colors.
