Robert D. Troncoso “Othello”, 82, passed away peacefully in his home, Sunday July 12, 2026, surrounded by his loved ones. Robert was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.
Robert was born in Seguin Texas to Modesto and Rosa (Gonzalez) Troncoso. At a young age the family moved to Colorado where Robert made his life. He graduated from Johnstown High in 1962, being the last graduating class from Johnstown High as a Phantom.
After graduation, Robert was drafted to the US Army, where he proudly served his country. From 1965 to 1971, he served basic training at Fort Leonard Wood in Missouri. From there he traveled to Fort Gordon in Georgia. Robert was a communications specialist in Korea where he was stationed at Camp Humphries, Camp Coiner and Camp Baker. He completed his service in Fort Bragg, North Carolina. However, the pride of serving his country stayed with him throughout his life.
In the summer of 1967, Robert met Wanda Martin who later became his wife. They married at Our Lady of Peace in Greeley Colorado on Oct. 4th, 1969. They settled in Johnstown Colorado where they created their family by adding three daughters to their family tree.
Throughout Robert’s life he was a hard worker. He was employed with Viking Cabinets in Loveland CO, Kodak in Windsor CO, Teledyne Waterpik in Loveland CO and Johnson’s Corner in Loveland CO. He retired Sept. 6, 2006.
Robert had many hobbies and interests. As a teenager, he played drums in a Spanish band. His love of the drums followed him throughout his life, with him having collected 10 sets. He also dabbled in DJing parties and loved going to yard sales and antique shopping with his grandchildren.
Robert is survived by his wife, Wanda of Johnstown. His daughters, Carrie (Calvin) Tow of Milliken, Tammi (Jason) Sanchez of Loveland. Along with his grandchildren, Sean “George” and Amber “Hamburger” Tow, Samantha “Troll” and Robert Summers, Orion “Pasquale” Tow, Marcus “Bo” Sanchez, Karina “Squiggly” Sanchez and Davian “Cachetudo” Sanchez along with his 3 great grandchildren, Theseus, Wayde and Revel. Numerous nieces and nephews and his pet piojo, Cedric.
Robert is preceded in death by his daughter, Sheri W Troncoso. His parents, Modesto and Rosa Troncoso, along with brothers Margarito, Gilbert and Juan. And sisters, Antonia, Esther, Eleanor, Alicia and Guadalupe.
Due to Roberts pride of his service in the military the family will be wearing jeans and Army and/or veteran shirts. Please feel free to join us.
A Life Celebration will be held on Thursday July 23rd, 2026, at Saint John the Baptist Catholic Church, 1000 Country Acres, Johnstown, Colorado 80534.
A Recitation of the Rosary will be 10:00 A.M. with Mass following at 11:00A.M. Military Honors will be rendered following the conclusion of Mass.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Wanda Troncoso to help the family with funeral expenses.
